Consumer interest in natural products for home decoration is creating a growing market for these products as is the popularity of freeze dried rose petal confetti. Because freeze drying preserves the life-like appearance of flowers and other botanicals, they are of special interest to imaginative interior designers, gift shop owners and wedding bouquet preservers. They are being used increasingly in restaurants, company foyers, banks etc. Consumers are amazed at these dried flowers that have the appearance of still being fresh.
The easiest flowers to freeze dry have always been roses and they are still in the majority of flowers being freeze-dried. The improvements in pre and post treatment chemicals that stabilize the colours and texture however have meant many more flowers can now be dried successfully.
